Dave Carter is regional director at the Flower Hill Institute, where he supports USDA’s technical assistance network for small and mid-sized meat and poultry processors. He brings decades of experience in sustainable agriculture, food systems, and cooperative development.
Dave previously served as executive director of the national bison association and chaired USDA’s national organic standards board. He also runs crystal springs consulting and works on tribal food sovereignty and natural food marketing. He and his wife manage a holistically raised bison herd on a 7,800-acre ranch in eastern Colorado.
